Now that I got your attention…As you know, we offer referral incentives (which just so happens to be a great way for us to help each other out)! After all, who wouldn’t want to have Boot Camp/group Personal Training for free?
Now you know that word of mouth is the ultimate marketing method, regardless of the topic or business. In a world full of scams and “get rich quick” schemes, people feel safer getting told about a service from someone who has experienced it first hand with success, and can vouch themselves!
I appreciate these referrals so much that not only do I discount your next month of Boot Camp by 50%, but also if you refer 2 people to Boot Camp in 1-month, your next month is free! What could be better than helping a friend lose 10lbs and saving some money?
Remember, the success of the campers and friends within our fitness family-Boot Camp is dependent on the hard work and great atmosphere created by the members of the fit family, so there are two different types of people and situations who are prime candidates for quality referrals:
The friend, family, co-worker who…
1. Exhibit “A”
a. Has a lot of weight to lose.
c. Has minimal to no motivation currently.
d. Who considers pricing to be the deciding factor on why they haven’t yet got with a trainer for help.
e. Doesn’t have much support around the household or around their daily life in their journey.
f. Could benefit from your camaraderie and intensify the benefits with the camaraderie of our complete fitness family.
g. Thinks of themselves as “too far gone” to start exercising in front of anyone.
2. Exhibit “B”
a. Is in somewhat visible shape, but couldn’t carry the whole load of groceries inside without some troubled breathing.
b. Does some exercising/fitness training semi-frequently to maintain, but hasn’t been challenged to grow and perfect their shape.
c. Is very outspoken in a positive way (this is imperative), and could serve as a good motivator for others.
d. Has a strong desire to learn more/get educated on different methods of fitness training, when to use them, how to implement them, and ultimately how to put them all together to maximum the “Calorie Burn VS. Time” factor.
Top 10 Excuses To Come To Boot Camp!
I hear a few excuses, here are some of my favorites and the reasons why you should ignore them and get moving:
- I’m not motivated. Have you ever had problems pushing yourself to attend a fitness class or a gym? Well, have you ever had an extremely positive trainer on your side, who likes to have fun and crack jokes, raise his voice to raise your energy, in a completely private studio, & bring you fun games & themes on a weekly basis? And if that doesn’t do it for you I’ll fill your inbox with get your assmosis to Boot Camp comments.
- I have no time. With my Boot Camp workouts you are in an out in an hour 2-3x/ week. We conclude each class with just the right cool-down & some functional stretching, but you are more than welcome to lay out on the mats and stretch out for an extra 5 after class.
- I have a bad diet. With The Boot Camp you will be doing total body workouts with cardiovascular aspects as well, & building lean muscle. This will elevate your metabolism, so that even if you make a slight improvement in your diet, you will see results. Don’t know what to eat? You will get serious results if you sit down & get a meal plan from your certified nutritionist, of whom is also your trainer ;)
- I want to workout with my friends. Well what a weird thing to say. I say this, REFER THEM, get them in for a free week and if they stay on you will get HALF OFF your next month. And then you guys can have a cheat meal together after class and bond even more over the exercises you “hate, but love” the most (in moderation & only 1-2x/week of course).
- I suck at commitment. Well, I’m amazing at it. You miss a class no problem, it happens, you may be sore, you may have slept in. But anyone who knows me or has spent anytime around the studio knows this for a fact- I’ll email you saying I missed you and you’re paying for results and this isn’t a big box gym where we want you to slip through the cracks and keep paying, we’re a fitness family & we care.
- I have tried everything to lose the weight so far and failed. Did you try it with a Fitness Professi
onal who does this full-time and then goes the extra mile on his own time to make sure he walks the talk, only because he lives what he loves and loves what he lives? - I had a trainer before. Oh, did you try a Boot Camp? Did they give you a nutrition plan, food journals to fill out before you eat for your first week to shock you into thinking about what you eat? Were these individuals extremely fit & educated themselves, & understood strength and conditioning principles?
- But I can’t afford it. I will give half off your next month for referrals. So refer 1 person a month and you’re in business. Think of people at the tanning salon, your chiropractor, massage therapist, neighbors, HOA meetings, school board/PTA, hair dresser, etc. They are all people that will join you in the battle against fat loss!
- I like my personal training sessions where I don’t exercise hard and talk about life. Ha-ha-ha, you’re alright, but do you really want results? This is the year 2011. Group fitness is the economical solution for everyone that wants the guidance, knowledge, and support that a Fitness Professional provides. Seeing a trainer such as myself or one of our other Fit Pro’s at Fitness Mastermind 2-3x’s per week and doing the exercise that makes sense to your goal (such as full body, compound exercises, etc.) will see you achieve your goal in a timely manner. Each & every one of my clients & Boot Campers can vouch for the fact that they get the best workout ever each time, but still have time to joke around & have fun. It is no secret that I’m a big kid & love to enjoy life & make jokes (I have a good one every once in a while too).
- I go to group fitness classes already. I don’t consider going to these classes as being a part of a fitness program. They won’t keep you accountable if you decide to not come, they will not modify exercises personally for you on a regular basis. They won’t write a newsletter and blog to send you all the information you need to succeed. However, if you already go to another fitness class, try out my Boot Camp & then tell me if they match up (I love that part). If anything, coming to Boot Camp & seeing me 2-3x/week, then going to alternate fitness classes on alternate days only increases your calorie burn for the week & those alternate classes heat up & loosen up the muscles!

Here are some tips to referring people to Boot Camp:
- We keep gift certificates & 1-week free passes at the studio that you can hand out. You may take as many of these as you want. These 1-week free passes & gift certificates entitle a new camper to try out Boot Camp risk free for 1-week before they decide to commit.
- Send out an email to your contact list explaining the Boot Camp you have joined and that you would love to have some them join you! Tell them they get a free week to try it out if they bring the 1-week free pass with them stating they were referred by you. (plus you get referral bonuses)
- Post it on your Facebook status. Mention you just got back from a great morning workout. Add a link in there to the website, so they know where to go. (http://www.fitnessmastermindtx.com/)
- When you come into Fitness Mastermind for training or a Boot Camp, check-in via Foursquare, Gowalla, or even Facebook (there are even more incentives there with multiple check ins).
- Join/"Like" The Fitness Mastermind Facebook Page by clicking here and invite people to join the group with the link at the top left corner of the page – This is huge!
- Forward The Fitness Mastermind “Fit In The Rock” bi-weekly Newsletter to all your friends or get them to sign up for it.
- Put a link to The Fitness Mastermind site on your website or blog.
- Grab some handouts/flyers from me and post them at your work, apartment complex, or HOA. Challenge your friends to see if they can hang with you at Boot Camp.
- Imagine yourself referring 10 people, and getting the next 5-months of Boot Camp free! Now let’s see it…

That’s it for now! I hope you all enjoyed your Saturday & kept it fit as usual. Until next time!
Keep it fit,
