Since Fitness Mastermind started our new afternoon Boot Camp a little less than a month ago, I’ve received numerous e-mails asking different questions, but each potential camper eventually had the same questions they wanted to know prior to getting started. Because of this, I’ve decided to go ahead & post some of these questions I’ve been seeing here lately, and hopefully inspire & make you comfortable enough to come try out how we’re changing lives & building the fitness family here at FM.
Just FYI: Camp is Mondays & Wednesdays, from 6:30pm-7:30pm. We recommend being 5-10 minutes early to camp each time to ensure we can start on time for the other campers.
· Question: I am not that fit and/or I have been away from a consistent exercise routine for a long time & am just starting out. Is Fitness Mastermind’s Fitness Boot Camp ri
ght for me?
o Answer: YES YOU CAN! ALL fitness levels from the beginner to the advanced can participate and WILL achieve amazing RESULTS. All you need is a positive attitude!
§ All exercises are 180 degrees modifiable, so the 18 year old All-State athlete can come to Boot Camp with their 90 year old Grandmother, & still get fit together. All ego aside, it takes a thoroughly educated & vastly experienced Personal Trainer to be able to structure & execute such a Boot Camp, which is what you’re getting with myself at Fitness Mastermind Fitness Boot Camp.
§ FM’s Fitness Boot Camp has been designed to accommodate all fitness levels, ages, males and females. We start the group workout off with a general warm-up which increases in intensity. We then do a combination of resistance and cardiovascular exercises equipment such as weights, resistance bands, skipping ropes, boxing gloves, own body weight, plus various methods of rope training including suspension training & rope battling. The workouts have been designed specifically to have a major effect on the body’s metabolism theref
ore as a result burning more calories, burning body fat and toning up. Once this part of the workout is completed there is a cool down followed by functional stretching.
· Question: I consider myself very fit, will I be challenged enough? Will Fitness Mastermind’s Fitness Boot Camps be too easy for me?
o Answer: FM’s Fitness Boot Camps have competitive athletes to include marathoners, Tri-Athletes and others that participate in a wide range of sports and activities on a competitive level. ALL fitness levels can benefit and get SERIOUS RESULTS! No one is ever too FIT to benefit from FM’s cutting edge style of training.
· Question: What is the difference between Boot Camp & Group Personal Training?
o Answer: That’s an excellent question I get from time to time, because essentially I structure FM’s Fitness Boot Camp similar to small group personal training, only difference being there are 8-10 participants instead of 2-5 clients.
o Boot Camp introduces you to other fit-goers such as yourself, of whom you wouldn’t have met or worked with before. Don’t have a support system? Boot Camp is perfect for you because not only do you have the support of me, but you have the camaraderie & support of the other campers.
§ Boot Camp serves as a viable option for those seeking to work with an experienced, educated, & certified Personal Trainer-within the feasible means of their current budget. While Fitness Mastermind does do our best to make Personal Training affordable, Boot Camp always serves as a feasible option to those seeking a much lower impact on their budget & much larger impact on their results, fitness, & waistline.
o Group Personal Training typically works best with those that have 2-3 additional friends/family/co-workers that want to participate in fitness training, only without others being involved and thus aiming for more one on three/four attention.
§ Group Personal Training also works a tad better for those of whom have a schedule that doesn’t necessarily meet the days/times of the available Fitness Boot Camps.
· Question: What type of people join your Fitness Boot Camps?
o Answer: People just like YOU! Individuals who enjoy working out in a TEAM environment and are motivated to make a positive change in their life. People seeking a change from the ‘normal gym routine’ and are seeking to build a healthy body, mind and spirit as well as learn a completely new method of accomplishing more in much less time with creative & challenging exercise modalities.
· Question: What do I need to bring to Fitness Boot Camp?
o Answer: YOURSELF! The moment you walk in the door you’re handed a clean hand towel for your sweat (yes, you will sweat) & a cold bottle of water. We’ve found over the years that the more we supply for you, the increased likelihood of consistent adherence to your program. If all you have to do is show up & we have everything else covered, what excuse could there possibly be? None!
· Question: Will I get yelled at? What is the atmosphere like at your Fitness Boot Camp?
o Answer: No you will not & should never be yelled at! We pride ourselves on our highly motivating and friendly atmosphere. You will be inspired by both your Trainer & fellow boot campers to achieve greatness. The only yelling (if any) will be words of positive reinforcement, encouragement and motivation by your fellow boot campers. Being mean, rude & yelling at clients is one of our “pet peeves” here at Fitness Mastermind-meaning that you might see it from a television “trainer personality,” but that doesn’t mean it’s the right way. I’ve personally NEVER had to yell at one of my clients or campers & each one of them can vouch for the fact that you will work hard & get results because you want to, not because of fear for being bashed in the head or spit on in the process of yelling. Boot Camp doesn’t mean you’ve joined the Army, it simply means you have that level of dedication & seriousness to your goals at hand.
· Question: Can I sign up with a friend?
o Answer: Yes, of course! We run an ongoing promotion with FM’s Boot Camp after you have attended your first Boot Camp.
§ Sign up with 1 friend and you pay half price for your course.
§ Sign up with 2 friends and your course is FREE!
o All we ask is that they must sign up for the same package as you (i.e. if you are attending twice a week they also must attend twice a week etc). Also, you can't use the same friends twice, so once they have attended one Boot Camp period you will then need to find different friends the next time to take advantage of the promotion again.
· Question: Why should I participate?
o Answer: Along with achieving dramatic physical improvements, you will also meet great women & men who share your same passion for attaining a healthy body and mind. You’ll gain more energy, self-confidence & clarity.
· Question: What is the cost (investment in myself)?
o Answer: Each four-week camp has a various different plans, depending on whether you choose a “session package” or a “time-frame package.”
§ A “session package” means a 12 pack, 18 pack, 24 pack of camp passes. These types of passes are purchased, but never expire. We by far don’t recommend this, but a 12 pack of camp passes could last 1-year using 1 camp pass each month.
§ A “time-frame package” means you purchase a one-month, two-month, etc. You do save money on time-frame packages, but the time framed packages expire on a set date whether you use them or not. Meaning absences are not credited to your camp # left.
§ Once we receive your registration information we will contact you to schedule your pre-camp assessment. This assessment will be administered by your Boot Camp instructor/Personal Trainer. Space is limited!
