It's FM's First Blog Post

Greetings from all of us here at Fitness Mastermind! This is our very first blog post, so be gentle-it's our first time!

We know your time is really valuable, and therefore won't take very much of your time. We'll start by giving you a few tid bits on who we are & why we love what we do...

Fitness Mastermind, LLC is upscale Round Rock's TRULY private personal training studio. With no memberships or joining fees ever, personal training & fitness services are now afforadable & no longer only available to the uber-wealthy. We are not an open gym, we are a completely private studio. We pride ourselves in the fact that when you come to train at Fitness Mastermind, you can trust that you must have your mind made up that you're going to get fit & stay fit, and we facilitate that in various other ways including the fact that you're 1-on-1 with your personal trainer (unless you're group training or doing boot camp, of course), with no outside memberships, distractions, or slobbering gym rats staring at you while you're putting in work.

While we are well versed & experienced in writing for all things health, fitness & nutrition via our free newsletter (which you should sign up for by the way) as well as other reports and news avenues locally; However, we are completely new to blogging, period.

So please let us know if you have any comments, suggestions, questions, etc. Let us know what you would like to see reviewed, analyzed, discussed, addressed, or even unveiled! Fitness can be easy, fitness can be fun, but if you never ask any questions-you will get help from noone!

So now, we'll just get right down to it...

Why do most Fit Pro's & Personal Trainers only give you 75% of what you need to know, & keep the other 25% secret? You've hired them as your trainer or consultant, you're giving them your hard-earned money... But what most prospects & clients don't yet know is that IN THIS lies the difference between a true Fitness Professional & that of a "Personal Trainer."

What do we mean by this?

Your everyday "Personal Trainer" simply meets you at the gym 2-3 times a week, takes you through 30-60 minutes of a workout, and has no other reach or contact with you-until your next session. Your everyday "Personal Trainer" tells you some of what you need to know about what you're doing and why, but always leaves that element of mystery. Why? Because they are establishing the "need" factor with you, in order to attempt to guarantee your continued need for them, and thus guaranteeing your continued business for them. (very selfish, I know)

Your well-educated "Fitness Professional" conducts themselves as just that, a Professional. They pride themselves in what they do, they go above & beyond expectations everytime, and ensure that your every want and need are covered on a 24/7 basis. A "Fitness Professional" realizes their job goes well beyond being a trainer, and although it includes many other hats to wear, the EDUCATOR is the big difference between a "trainer" and "fitness professional."

A very wise woman once told me: "You're job as a Fitness Professional is not only to get the client to where they want and need to go, in the least amount of time possible-safely...It is also to EDUCATE the client on what they are doing, how to do it correctly, when they should do it, and why they should do it. You're goal is to educate the client in such a thorough manner, they don't need you once they've reached their goals. If they choose to stay with you, so be it. But don't worry about losing clients, that client that you've educated so thoroughly will refer many clients to you because you went above and beyond for them, and demonstrated your passion for fitness, not your love and need for business and money."

From that day forward I made sure that I always helped a client in need, always answered questions asked and found the answers to the questions I could not ask, and made it my duty to find a relation and easy explanation of what it would take for them to maintain the awesome physique they have now got, without me.

Next time you're working or even talking with a Personal Trainer/Fitness Professional, keep this concept in the back of your mind...Then ask yourself, am I paying for mediocrity or am I paying for the best and getting every "bank for my buck?"

With the coming of the New Year, comes higher expectations & a hopeful increased ease of access. Please let us know what you think, hope to see, want to know, and even just how you're doing. Every little comment from our clients & readers enables us to better serve you.

P.S. For our future posts, you can expect shorter duration & directly to the topic of choice.

Until Next Time!

Yours In Fitness,
